A Short Halloween PSA

tearlessrain:

Hey the thing I reblogged earlier reminded me to mention this:

I can promise all my followers that I do not post or reblog jump scares, ever, because A) I don’t like them and they suck, and B) I know at least a few of my followers have anxiety in one form or another and I’m not going to be that jerk.

So yes. There will be no jump scares from this blog, just wanted to ease your minds preemptively.

Kinesin is a protein that moves things around the cell. That filament is a protein strand that gives the cell structure. That vesicle is a big blob full of cellular product that the cell wants to transport somewhere else. It is driven by ATP hydrolysis. (Source) (Video)

If you are looking for a good book to read. I recommend this one.
This entire book was written by a man whose stroke plunged him into a 21 day coma. He awakened to find himself fully paralyzed except for one eye and a part of his head. He survived an entire month, enough to publish an entire book.
How did he do this?
He dictated his book one character at a time by blinking his left eyelid while an assistant recited letters.
200,000 blinks tells his entire story. He died 3 days after the book was published due to pneumonia.

Holy Shit

People are amazing
There is also a movie about this
